"Mom! Mom! Mom!" Josh chanted gesturing wildly as he whipped his emergency nerf bat out from under his pillow, and began whacking the strange ghost man (?) in the face with it over and over again. It glared menacingly back with red eyes. The emergency nerf bat was kept beneath Josh's pillow at all times. Its purpose was to be at the ready in case of monster attack. Of course Josh had now been ten years old for some time, and therefore of such an age as to be of the mistaken impression that there were no such a things as monsters. Still, the nerf bat had remained, long after his mind had freed itself of such helpful superstitions, functioning merely as a security blanket, which is for the record all it could have ever been good for anyway, as there are very few situations wherein a nerf bat can be of any use against any type of monster.

"Kid, shaddap, calm down," it uttered in harsh whisper, and it reached out to grab Joshua by his pajama shirt, this oddly had no calming effect on the boy, and instead prompted him to fall off the bed. "Mom, help! There's a guy in my room! Help!" Josh rolled onto his hands and knees, and crawled across the floor.

"You gotta be kiddin' me," it uttered looking from one side of the room to the other, adjusting its fedora, as it reapplied it to the top of its head.

"Help!!! Help!!!"

The door to Josh's room swung open, and as it did so, the glowing white figure became a beam again, and shot back into the boy's body.

"What is it, are you ok!?" Our hero's mother spat (the words) as she came bustling into the room, shooting her gaze from one end of it to the other, and then back to Joshua sprawled across the floor. A look of panic quickly replaced itself with annoyance.

"Aaaa! Aaaa! He went inside me again! The glowing man went back inside me!" he shouted flailing his arms and legs in the air, and then abruptly sitting up, and gazing into the collar of his pajamas, as if to see if the man was hiding in there.

"Ok wait, slow down. Who was inside you?" She extended her hand outward in a stop motion, as if it had the power (as often it did) to create coherence where there was none.
